NOTIFICATION FROM GROSSMONT IMAGING, LLC. 

(CLOSURE EFFECTIVE 12/1/2023) 

Dear Patient,

This is to inform you that Grossmont Imaging, LLC, the joint venture between Sharp Grossmont Hospital (“SGH”) and X-Ray Medical Group, will close operations on December 1st, 2023.  This decision was not made lightly and comes after a thorough evaluation of our operations and finances. The following details provide information of where you can go for your future imaging services and who to contact for medical records:

1. Transitional closure:

   • Mammography Services: SGH is in process of upgrading its Outpatient Imaging Center to meet regulatory requirements and be accredited as a Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center. Patients requiring mammography services in the month of December should contact their provider to be scheduled at either Sharp Memorial Hospital’s James S. Brown Pavilion (“SMH”) or Sharp Coronado Hospital (“SCO”).  We expect to have limited mammography services available in January 2024 and SGH will make every effort to schedule all patients for these services. However, if you are unable to wait for your exam, you should contact your provider to be scheduled at either SMH or SCO during the transitional period. Full mammography services are expected to be available at SGH’s Outpatient Imaging Center in May 2024.

   • DEXA and Stereotactic Biopsies:  Please contact your provider to be referred to either SMH or SCO until SGH’s Outpatient Imaging Center’s renovations are completed in May 2024. 

2. Ultrasound , CT, MRI: Please contact your provider to be referred to SGH for these services.

3. Assistance and Support: SGH’s staff is available to answer any questions or concerns you may have during and after the transition.

4. Reports and Images: SGH will become the custodian of Grossmont Imaging’s medical records.  If you need access to your records after our closure, please contact SGH’s Outpatient Imaging Center at 619-740-5140.
